PicTimer FAQ

Answers on setup, pricing, embeds, and getting the most out of your countdown timers.

General

What email clients are supported?

+
PicTimer works in every major email client including Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo Mail, and more. The timer renders as a standard image, so it works anywhere images are displayed.

How does the timer update in real time?

+
Each time the email is opened, the email client requests the timer image from our servers. We generate a fresh image with the current remaining time, so it's always accurate to the second.

What happens when the timer expires?

+
When the deadline passes, the timer displays "00:00:00:00" by default. You can also configure a custom expired message or redirect URL for your campaign.
Features

What are evergreen timers?

+
Evergreen timers start counting down from the moment each recipient opens the email, rather than counting down to a fixed date. They're perfect for welcome sequences and abandoned cart flows.

What's the difference between fixed and evergreen timers?

+
Fixed timers count down to a specific date (e.g., "Sale ends Friday"). Evergreen timers start a fresh countdown for each recipient (e.g., "Your offer expires in 2 hours").

Can I customize the timer design?

+
Yes! You can choose from multiple styles and fully customize background, text, and accent colors to match your brand.

Do timers work on mobile devices?

+
Absolutely. PicTimer generates responsive images that look great on any screen size, tested across all major mobile clients.
Getting Started

Do I need to install anything?

+
No. PicTimer works by embedding a simple <img> tag in your email. No JavaScript or plugins required.

Is there a free plan?

+
Yes. The free plan includes 10,000 timer impressions per month and core features, and paid plans are available for higher-volume sending and advanced features.

How do I embed a timer in my email?

+
Create a timer in the builder, copy the generated <img> code, and paste it into your email editor. It works with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, and all other ESPs.

Can I use the same timer in multiple emails?

+
Yes, you can use the same embed code across different emails in the same campaign or sequence.
